Right after the 4th of july, Sonny and I were able to get away
for a few days, so we decided to go back to Vegas, a place we
hadn't visited for about 12 years. We had a lot of fun and were
able to relax. We stayed at a nice resort off the strip that was
really relaxing and not noisy (because there was no casino there).
The pool stayed open 24 hours which was nice since the coolest
time of day was midnight:)

We also made sure to stop at a few fast food places that
we don't get in Wisconsin, so it was a MUST that we hit
Del Taco and In and Out Burger. We did find out after we
got home that we do have a Del Taco now in Janesville, WI,
which is about 1 1/2 hours away. Now we plan our travels
in Wisconsin to include a diversion to Janesville:)

Ouch! I don't miss these temperatures at all!

Just some famous people we met in Vegas:)

This was new since we'd been to Vegas, but then
again, most everything was new to us since it had
been so long since we'd been there. This is the old
part of Vegas where they have fixed everything up
and added a covered tunnel that they project a
light show on at night put to music. Some of the pictures
below are looking up at the ceiling. The theme to
the show while we were there was the 4th of July.
This was called the Fremont experience!

Once we planned our trip to vegas, we found out that Scott
and Kelly were going to be there a few of the same days, so
we were excited to get together with our good friends and
hang out!

Some amazing musicians at the dueling pianos!

Sonny and Scott refusing to turn around for a picture, so
I get to Blog the back of their heads. One is thinning and
one is already shiny:)

Caitlyn has been saving since right after Christmas for a Wii.
She finally succeeded in saving about two thirds of the amount
so her dad kicked in the rest. This is the most money she has
ever saved. She must have really wanted it bad. Camryn is
getting very good at it as well. She beats everyone in bowling,
and REALLY gets into the boxing game. (go figure):)

THE CLEAN UP IS UNDERWAY !!!

I drove over to the West side of town yesterday where the
flood did most of the damage. What I saw was so sad. I know
it's just stuff, but this flood hit the lowest income area of town
and these people will never get enough money to replace their
things. Hopefully they WILL receive enough to replace those
things that are necessary. I drove through so many
neighborhoods and the picture was the same house after
house. I have never seen so much trash in all of my life and
when I rolled my window down to take a picture, the smell
was so unbearable. The National Guard was there helping
people remove things from their homes. FEMA has officially
moved in and taken over the Reedsburg High School. They
are registering many families and one of the large gyms has
been set up as a food pantry with food that was sent from
Second Harvest in Madison.

I have the official information for those wanting to help out.
All donations can be sent to:

The Reedsburg Bank
201 Main St
Reedsburg, WI 53959
Attn: Reedsburg Flood Relief Account
